What to Expect from the New Ford Bronco

What to Expect from the New Ford Bronco

Ford logo - Mount Juliet, TN
We hope you’re as excited for the return of the Bronco as we are!

The Ford Bronco is a legendary SUV that was in continuous production for 40 straight years, from 1966 to 1996, before it was discontinued and replaced with the Ford Expedition. Ford recently announced that it will bring back the Bronco in the next few years, and though very little has been revealed so far, this is what we know and what we can guess.

The new Ford Bronco will most likely be released in 2020 and will probably be built on a shortened version of the T6 ladder frame that is set to debut. Production of the Bronco will take place in the US, which was confirmed a while back by UAW, and will probably have a lot in common mechanically with the Ford Ranger, which we’ll see in 2018.

The U.S. Bronco will probably not have a V8 engine and instead will have a gasoline V6 with turbocharger, as has been the trend in Ford trucks and SUVs in the last couple of years. Lighter weight and more fuel-efficient, turbocharged V6 engines can produce as much horsepower as V8 engines, making for a less-heavy Bronco with all the power we’re used to.

The Bronco will probably be between the Jeep Wrangler and Chevy Tahoe in terms of size, a spot that has been mostly ignored by automakers. It will definitely be offered with 4WD but may also have FWD to make it a friendlier daily driver.

Look out for more news on the upcoming Ford Bronco!

Thanksgiving Travel Tips

Thanksgiving Travel Tips

Thanksgiving Travel TipsThanksgiving is incredibly close now, which means that if you had plans to travel and aren’t already on the way, you’re probably leaving soon. Traveling during the holidays can be stressful, especially when Thanksgiving is the busiest travel holiday of the year. The airline industry and AAA expect more travels than ever this year. Here are some Thanksgiving travel tips from us at Two Rivers Ford designed to help you reach your destination without a hitch!

  • Attitude – Before you head out the door, make a note to keep your attitude in check. Everyone is traveling, which means that tension will be running high. Avoid conflict and taking out your stress on others. It could lead to a very bad reaction from other travelers. Don’t let your attitude ruin your trip!
  • Social Media – Many airlines report problems on social media before any other method of communication. Keep your smartphone handy and follow your airline on Twitter. Save yourself some time and keep an eye on the feed rather than bugging a flight attendant.
  • Luggage – Before you head out the door, make sure you have everything you need. More importantly, make sure you don’t take anything that won’t be a necessity on the trip. Less luggage means less hassle and you won’t have to pay any of those hefty baggage fees.

Back to School Driving Tips

Back to School Driving Tips

Back to School DrivingNow that school is back in session, you are sharing the road with more drivers, school buses, and children riding bikes or walking to school. With this in mind, it’s a good time for some back to school driving tips.

School Buses

  • Never pass a bus that is stopped to load or unload children. This is illegal in all 50 states. Remember, a child’s life is more important than a few minutes of your time.
  • Always allow a greater following distance for a school bus than you would for a regular vehicle.

Pedestrians

  • Do not block crosswalks while stopped. This forces children to go around you and could put them in potential danger.
  • Always stop for a school crossing guard—do not go around their stop sign or flag.
  • Do not honk your horn or rev your engine to scare pedestrians.
  • Drive with extra caution through school zones.

Drivers

If you are driving your kids to and from school, here are a few rules to remember.

  • Do not double park. This could block visibility for children.
  • Always load and unload children on the same side of the street as the school.
  • Carpool, if possible, to reduce the number of cars at the school.

We hope you and your children have a safe and fun school year!

It wasn’t until she met her husband, Eric, that she found her passion for tournament fishing. Her first tournament was the Women’s Bassmaster Tour back in 2008. Since then, she’s made many friends and her knowledge of fishing continues to grow. We asked Dianna to answer a few questions for us to get to know her as more than just a great pro angler!

Why Trade In My Car?

Why Trade In My Car?

New Ford F-150 - Why Trade in My Car

A new car is great but it’s even better if you have a trade-in to go along with it. Throughout the process of determining whether you need a new car, the question “why trade in my car” may have popped up a few times. Here at Two Rivers Ford, we have the answers you’re looking for.

Cars are lasting longer and longer thanks to advances in engineering, manufacturing, design, and materials. Eventually, the time will come when it’s time for a new car. One of the benefits of having a trade-in is that the value of that car can be negotiated separately or deducted from the new car’s price. The price you get for your trade-in can vary but to determine you trade-in car’s value, consult Kelley Blue Book.

Trading a car in for a new model at a dealership saves time and money. The other alternative to trading a car in at a dealership is to sell it privately. Depending on the car, price, and area you live, that could take months and that’s not time many drivers have to spare. To get a new car quickly, take your trade-in to the dealership and drive off the lot in a new car.

Ford Launches Ford Drives U Program for College Students

Ford Launches Ford Drives U Program for College Students

Ford Drives UOne of the number one complaints from any college student is that they are always broke, and it’s no wonder. With high tuition costs, room and board, having to pay for textbooks, and having no time to work during the week between classes and homework, it can be rough to squirrel away extra change. That’s why Ford launched the Ford Drives U program to help college students purchase or lease a new vehicles, because the last thing students need to worry about is how they’re going to chauffer their friends around during the weekend.

How does it work? Thankfully, Ford’s Ford Drives U website makes the process simple. All students have to do is sign up through the form available on the website and they’ll get a free $500 incentive in bonus cash to put towards their new car, plus access to great rates when financing the loan on their brand-new set of wheels.

In order to be eligible for the program, all you have to do is be a full- or part-time student at a four-year college or university, junior college, community college, or trade school — Ford doesn’t discriminate! You’re also eligible if you’re in a graduate program, or even if you have already graduated. That’s right, if you’ve graduated between May of 2014 and now, you can still cash in on this great offer.

Take advantage of the Ford Drives U program by bringing proof of student eligibility with you to your local dealership when you go to pick up a new 2015 or 2016 model. Proof can be anything from a diploma to your transcript to a current class schedule. The program ends January 3, 2017, so make sure to take advantage of this program while you can!

Ford Named Best Overall Truck Brand in Kelley Blue Book Brand Image Awards

Ford Named Best Overall Truck Brand in Kelley Blue Book Brand Image Awards

Best Overall Truck Brand - 2016 Ford F-150Ford has been named the Best Overall Truck Brand in the Kelley Blue Book Brand Image Awards, marking the third consecutive time the Detroit automaker has earned the award and the seventh out of eight times that Kelley Blue Book has presented it.

The 2016 Ford F-150, which introduces segment-first technology like Pro Trailer Backup Assist, was instrumental in keeping Ford at the top of the trucking industry. In addition, thanks to its best-in-class 440 diesel horsepower and 860 lb-ft of torque, the Ford F-Series Super Duty continues to be the pick-of-the-lot for customers seeking serious towing capability.

“Ford continues to give truck buyers what they want,” said the KBB.com editors. “Best-in-class towing and payload capacity, a cabin filled with lux and tech amenities, performance that can cause an adrenaline rush, and a low starting price.”

The Brand Image Awards were based on more than 12,000 in-market new-vehicle shoppers doing their research at KBB.com. We don’t have as much data as they do at Two Rivers Ford, but we’re not at all surprised to see Ford come out on top!
