Ford Maverick’s Estimated Fuel Economy Hits 41 MPG

2022 Ford Maverick | MT Juliet, TN

Ford has been talking a lot about its 2022 Ford Maverick hybrid pickup truck and how it will save truck fans money at the pump. Now the brand has the facts to back it up, with the truck officially earning an EPA estimated rating of 42 miles per gallon in the city.[1]

“Our team set out to redefine what a truck could be with Maverick, and we’ve done that with an EPA-estimated 42 mpg city… At the same time, Maverick offers room for five and plenty of towing and hauling for weekend trips or do-it-yourself projects,” said Chris Mazur, Ford Maverick chief engineer.[2]

The Ford Maverick is the first truck to come standard with a hybrid powertrain. It does have a gas engine and 4×4 option if you need more to hit rough roads.

There’s more to be excited about than just a hybrid powertrain. The Maverick can tow from 2,000 to 4,000 pounds when properly equipped. The bed can handle a payload of up to 1,500 pounds. Besides being able to carry a heavy load, the FLEXBED™  of the Ford Maverick can be configured into separate compartments using lumber and take advantage of four D-rings, two tie-downs, and built-in threaded holes to tie everything down. The multi-position tailgate is also built to handle versatile loads, as well as up to 500 pounds of people and food on tailgate nights.
